Carol's Mount Baker Climb To Fight Breast Cancer
This summer, on June 27-29, I will team up with a group of climbers, formed by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, to summit Mount Baker. In so doing I will be raising crucial funds to support Breast Cancer research at the Hutch.
I am a 14 year breast cancer survivor because of research that provided the answers for my cure. However, we still do not have all of the answers. Breast cancer will present itself to one out of every eight women in their lifetime and a woman will die from breast cancer every 12 minutes. Men are direct victims of breast cancer as well. In 1998 1,600 men were diagnosed.
Your pledge will help the Hutch find the answers so that others who hear the diagnosis "it's breast cancer" will also be able to say "I am a survivor". Or better yet, to never have to hear that diagnosis because research has provided the keys to prevention.
